TEAMSTERS LOCAL 25 ARMSTRONG AMBULANCE WORKERS RATIFY FIRST CONTRACT

TEAMSTERS LOCAL 25 ARMSTRONG AMBULANCE WORKERS RATIFY FIRST CONTRACT
Two years ago, Joint Council 10 organizers started organizing Armstrong Ambulance workers and today these workers have their first Teamster contract. The Teamsters Boston Local 25 members overwhelmingly ratified their first Teamster contract by a 97% margin. This is the first ambulance contract for Teamsters Local 25.
“Today’s win is huge for our brothers and sisters at Armstrong Ambulance,” said Teamsters Joint Council 10 New England Secretary-Treasurer and Local 25 President Tom Mari. “This first contract includes significant wage increases, Teamster health and welfare, but most important they now have a contract with written protection these employees never had before. These workers are charged with responding to medical emergencies and helping people during their time of need. It’s only fair they have a strong Union contract with benefits they can be proud of and support their families.”
Workers first met with the Teamsters in early 2021. Together the workers’ organizing committee and the Teamsters Joint Council 10 New England Organizing Department conducted one-on-one meetings with over sixty-five percent of the company before they voted to become Teamsters last June.
Armstrong Ambulance members work out of bases in Waltham, Medford, Arlington, Brighton, Saugus, Stoneham, and Woburn. They are the first responders who make sure we get the best possible treatment during the worst of possible times.
