TEAMSTERS FIGHT FOR PROJECT LABOR AGREEMENT’S ON PUBLIC PROJECTS

Teamsters Local 25 and Local 42 members were in Salem, MA, this week to stand with the North Shore Building Trades and North Shore Labor Council, and other union members, for Project Labor Agreements (PLA). The Salem School Building Committee recently voted 9-4 against a PLA on the new high school project.

Republic Teamsters took a break from the strike line and also came out to support.

PLA’s ensure safety and quality standards as well as ensure that local, women and minority workers are given equitable opportunities to work on the project, while not significantly affecting the overall cost.
