NEW ENGLAND TEAMSTERS ATTEND POLITICAL COORDINATORS CONFERENCE IN WASHINGTON, D.C. 
Joint Council 10 was well represented at the Teamsters Political Coordinators Conference this week 
Sisters and brothers joined more than 200 Teamsters to learn, educate and lobby for Teamsters issues – like the Warehouse Worker Protection Bill, Federal Motion Picture Tax Incentive and the Faster Labor Contracts Act, which would expedite the process for workers who voted to unionize to win a first contract, and hold employers accountable when they drag out negotiations.
Teamsters Boston was recognized with the inaugural “Teamsters Brother Joe Conti Memorial Award” named after the legendary Local 25 Teamster, and given to the top local union DRIVE fundraiser.
“Joe Conti was a proud Teamster, and he lived it every day,” Teamsters Local 25 President and JC10 Secretary-Treasurer Tom Mari said. “In his retirement he was busier than ever, serving as chapter president, organizing our blood drive, co-chairing our toy drive and so much more. Local 25 was proud to honor his legacy with the Joseph B. Conti Blood Bank and now Teamsters across the nation will learn about him through the Joe Conti DRIVE Award. Thank you to all of the Local 25 members that donated this year so that we could receive this honor.”
