LOCAL 25 TRAINING FUND HOSTS ESOL FOR CDL TRAINING
More than 10 students began a 12-week program that prepares them for careers in Teamsters occupations. The ESOL for CDL program is open to Teamster members and the community.
“Continuing education strengthens the fabric of our community. By offering practical training, the Teamsters give people a chance to better themselves and their families,” said Sean M. O’Brien, Local 25 President.
Students from three continents gathered to get the training needed to improve their job prospects. The students originally hail from Uganda, Guatemala, Haiti, Ghana, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic. More than half of the students already work at Teamster-represented employers including Stop and Shop, Bradford Logistics, Emerald Green and the parking industry and hope to improve their prospects in their workplaces. Community students are looking to improve their skills so they too can find good Teamster jobs.
