LOCAL 1150 AND SIKORSKY HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM CELEBRATES 21 YEARS; BROTHER HUBBARD RECOGNIZED
On Thursday, August 24th, the Teamsters/Sikorsky Career Pathways program hosted its 21st Commencement Ceremony in Orange, CT.
This program gives Connecticut high school students the opportunity to participate in a paid internship mentored by Local 1150 union members at Sikorsky Aircraft. Many are hired full time upon graduation.
This year the 2023 graduating class included 17 returning students who have been hired full time, and the Junior class who will return next year to complete their second 8-week, paid internship.
Teamsters Local 1150 recognized Brother Dennis Hubbard who has served as a Career Pathways mentor, coordinator, and labor steward since the program’s inception in 2002, and will retire from the program this year.
